So, this is apparently a pretty big thing in Alaska. They even have an Ice Festival that is in its 23rd year and hosts the largest art exhibit competitions worldwide. It's apparently a month long attraction involving 70 some teams all over the world. In addition, they have a kids park that is constructed entirely of ice! It consists of slides, rides, mazes, and life sized sculptures of animals and popular characters. The event starts sometime in march and typically lasts all month long, but businesses around town also start putting ice sculptures outside their buildings around this time. I took a few pictures of the ones I have see so far.
