It's Thursday...but Friday's comin
I keep thinking that today is friday...maybe thats because today is MY friday :) Thats right I have tomorrow off and I am SUPER stoked about it. In fact I might even hit some yard sales up tomorrow to celebrate my day off. OHHHH and some friends of ours from church called Zac and asked if they could keep Avery tomorrow evening so that we could go on a date....DATE? whats that!?! I am not even sure I know how to act without Avery around to throw food, spill a drink, or pull everything off the table. This will be very strange...in fact I'm not even sure what to do...gonna have to think about this one :) Thankful for new friends!!!

Friends
Avery invited a friend over last night...his name is Stanley. Stanley is a month younger then Avery. Although these pictures do not exactly show their enthusiasm they had a great time together. Avery had a blast entertaining his new little friend and showing him all of his toys. Shockingly there was only one fuss...over Avery's laptop computer...it was put away and the fussing ended. Avery does so much better with friends around to entertain! He loved pushing Stanley around in His little tikes car. Will try to post the rest of the pics as my computer allows

Finally!!!
These pictures are from last week because A.) I haven't been able to load any pictures due to bad internet connection and a slow (old) computer and B.) It has been raining and cloudy ALL week. Last week was sunny, breezy, and clear...perfect for an afternoon hike. Avery likes to jump into his kelty kid pack and trek up to the top of the mountain to get a peak of Mt. McKinley on a clear day. My camera doesn't really do it justice...gotta see it for yourself :)

It's Friday AGAIN
My computer has been on the fritz and it has only taken me ALL week to download one lonely little picture....think its time for a new computer. Little man might look like he's crying, but they are tears of joy :) His eyes always seem to water when we go for walks. Looking forward to a great weekend! Happy Friday....AGAIN!

Happy Friday
Who's happy it's friday...THIS GUY!!!
(Oh and probably his mommy too)
Fridays mean the weekend is coming...and this one couldn't come soon enough! I am ready to be home with this handsome little dude and his handsome daddy. The past several years fridays didn't mean anything to me, because I worked 3 twelve hour shifts on any day of the week...so friday was just another day. But NOW fridays are looked forward to EVERY week. As much as I love my job, I still look forward to being home with my family. Sooo enjoy YOUR friday :)

Splish Splash I was taking a bath!
Normally I would think that Avery is a little too big for sink bathing (who knows maybe I'm wrong!) but as I've mentioned before our new place does not have a bathtub...only a stand up shower. We have come to find out that this little guy does not like to sit in the shower with water streaming down his face...go figure :) Luckily for us we have a pretty deep sink...but we still have to soak up loads of water after Avery splashes it out of the sink onto the counter and floor. No matter, he's having fun and thats all that matters right....right? ;)

Train them early
Avery used to HATE when I turned on the vacuum (a good excuse not to vacuum???) but now he LOVES it and tries to "help" every time I bring it out (another good excuse not to vacuum???). So, we just decided to go with it and train him to help with chores early ;) So far so gooood, never mind the fact that the floor is still full of crumbs after he's finished...at least he's "helping"

Pity Party
Oh how I wish this was what I was doing right now...instead I am having a pity party while my family IS actually doing this. I know, I know I shouldn't complain...and technically I'm not complaining, I'm just coveting their vacation (ok so that is wrong too). My niece turned 7 yesterday and we really wanted to be there to celebrate with her...especially at the beach. I did however find out that it is cheaper to fly to Hawaii then to the lower 48....um I think I know where Avery's first trip to the beach will be :) So, mom, dad, chris, levi, cora, jj, teran and baby bear...enjoy the OBX and take lots of pictures so we can enjoy the scenery!

Yard Sales
This past weekend I had a ton of fun going to yard sales and then perfecting my finds. Here in Fairbanks there are a BOOKOO of yardsales every weekend, and people aren't just getting rid of piddly stuff, they are getting rid of their whole house! So my recent finds have included a coffee table with two end tables (50$), a cute chair (20$), two bookshelves (40$), 2 pictures (2 dollars a piece), non stick frying pan (1$), Electric hand sander (1$), 6 new books (.50 cents), Picture frame (1$), and a kitchen table (50$). All of that for 170$, I was pretty excited. Now granted I did have to do a little work to make these things look a little presentable, but that was fun TOO!
My coffee table and two end tables were a very sturdy find but just needed a little TLC. They were pretty dinged up. So I gave them a good cleaning, sanded them down and painted them white....too white.
Then I decided to brush a light satin beige color over the top and distress the corners.
Really hard to tell from the pictures but it turned out really cute!
This was my 20$ find and I thought it was so cute! It needed a REALLY good cleaning but after that it works perfectly in our living room and is very comfortable.
These two pictures were ONLY 2$ a piece...WHAT now just have to find the right spot for them
This is only one of the two book shelves we bought. The other is taller and perfect for Avery's room...AND we didn't have to do anything to them they were practically brand new and would have cost about 200$ new.
Our kitchen is very small and not alot of room for a table and chairs. This was a perfect find because it folds down on both sides and you can set it out of the way...it was just wood on top and needed a good cleaning but all in all pretty decent. Still perfecting this find but already the coat of paint makes a world of difference

Just another day outside
Little Man's been playing outside a lot this past week. The weather has been warm and the misquitos are not so bad at our new place. We are up quite a bit higher then town and the temps are 8-10 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter (yay!). Also there is a huge difference in the misquitos up here. Down in the valley you will get eaten alive in the wetter areas, but up here we have only seen a couple...so much nicer going outside when you are not swatting at misquitos every 1/4 of a second.
