Old Mother Hubbard
Old Mother Hubbard needs to go to the grocery store! Avery is delighted to have a new hiding place, however he is not so fond of the bare cupboards when dinner time roles around. I don't think mustard counts as a vegtebale? Do you think that stare is because we found him or because there is nothing to eat?

Living spaces
Avery also had a bit of a struggle settling into his spacious room. Although Zac and I have downsized, Avery's new room is much larger then his closet living and he seemed to have a bit of a melt down the first night in his new space. The second night he had a mini melt down, the next night he babbled for about 45mins before falling asleep, and finally last night he went straight to sleep with no crying at all....ahhh back to normal. However I must confess that we have not given Avery a bath for the entire 4 days we have been here. You see, we only have a stand up shower and have yet to try our hand at bathing Avery in the shower. I mentioned to Zac tonight that I hope we don't look at each other in a year and realize Avery has STILL not had a bath :) Surely that won't happen...right??? We can blame it on living in Fairbanks...there are lots of people who live in dry cabins...how do they shower?

HAPPY FATHERS DAY
Avery and I wanted to say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to a GREAT dad!
Zac has taken on a new role as a stay at home dad and he is excelling in that role. Avery loves his daddy so much and I know he really enjoys Zac being home with him. Being a stay at home parent is no easy task and we just wanted to say how thankful and appreciative we are for everything Zac does for this family.

Peaches
These aren't just ANY peaches, these are NORTH CAROLINA peaches!!! Yesterday Zac and I received a package and low and behold it contained home grown North Carolina peaches from Zac's dads farm. Man how we missed this delicious fruit. Oh, you can get peaches here in Alaska...they just taste like cardboard...they look like peaches they just have absolutely no taste. So this was a much appreciated treat! Normally it takes a little over a week for a package to arrive, but his dad had them sent next day air and most of them made it fairly intact. Before I could even get home to see them Zac had already cut 3/4 of them up and was making a peach cobbler :)
Thank you Vic for this WONDERFUL treat!!!

What better to do on rainy days then take pictures? I believe how ever that Avery has caught on the the whole camera thing. If we catch him doing something funny or laughing histerically, as soon as we take out the camera he puts this stoic look on his face. We have to start sneaking the camera out now if we want a good laughing shot :)

Moving Again
Soooo, we are moving again...not out of Fairbanks just into a different place. The hospital put us up for the first 5 months, and that is quickly coming to a close. The thought of moving our stuff again (even the little amount that we have left) to another rental, makes me cringe just a little bit. We were starting to think we weren't going to find a place, but have recently found a 1 bedroom with an office. Rent here makes me want to pull my hair out. Back home in North Carolina we were living in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house for 700/month. Here we are living in a 1 bedroom 3/4 bath for 1350/month. Back home the last person we rented from only wanted a hand shake, here they have a 10 page lease with do's and don'ts. Back home we rented from month to month, here you have to sign a one year lease. A little frustrating to say the least. We are just praying for the Lord's protection, guidance, and wisdom in all situations.
On a brighter note we have been getting more involved with people here at First Assembly in Fairbanks. They just recently hired a new pastor who moved up from Florida, but is originally from North Carolina. We are excited to see what he will bring to this body of believers. Him and his wife invited us to eat dinner with them next Sunday evening. This was a shock to Zac and I because there are probably a good 300-350 or more people who go to this church and most sundays we feel like we get lost in the crowd. It will be good to hear his heart and to share with them a little bit about how we got to Fairbanks.
